Kai Resilience Troppo Project

Te Puke town

Join a living food forest dedicated to strengthening local food resilience, biodiversity, and community connection in the Bay of Plenty. The Kai Resilience Troppo Project is transforming an urban space into a thriving tropical and subtropical food forest where volunteers can learn practical growing skills, contribute to meaningful community projects, and help create a long-term source of abundant food for future generations. Whether you're an experienced grower, curious beginner, student, retiree, photographer, videographer, builder, educator, or simply someone who wants to make a positive difference, there is a place for you here. Volunteers may assist with: Food forest establishment and maintenance Planting tropical and subtropical species Harvesting and seed saving Composting and soil building Garden infrastructure projects Community workshops and open days Photography and storytelling Educational content creation Biodiversity monitoring Community outreach and engagement Learn by doing, connect with like-minded people, and help build a resilient local food system that benefits the wider community.
