NZ Dementia Foundation - Voluntary Governance Roles

As Aotearoa’s independent voice for the dementia mate wareware workforce, we connect, empower, and champion those who support people living with dementia — including professionals, carers, educators, researchers, service providers, and government agencies. We bring the sector together to spark collaboration, influence change, and drive innovation for a better future.

We’re looking for leaders who are not only passionate about improving lives but who also bring specific expertise to strengthen our Board’s capability and impact. We’re especially seeking people with:

- Fundraising expertise and good networking skills – to help us build sustainable funding streams.

- Marketing expertise – to help us grow our reach, increase visibility, and deliver good solutions that meet the workforce’s needs.

- Entrepreneurial thinking and innovation skills – to help us identify new opportunities and drive sector transformation.

We also warmly welcome candidates who bring Māori or Pasifika leadership and cultural insight to help us reflect and serve our communities more effectively.

Our board meets once a quarter in the evening (on line) for around 1.5 hours in the evening. We also break away to occasional working group sessions outside of this, which are also around 1.5 hours and on line in the evening.
