Sorting & Packing Children's Clothing (EBOP)

### Volunteer Role: Sorting & Packing

**Location:** Edgecumbe, Eastern Bay of Plenty **Organisation:** The Clothing Project

**Role Overview**

As a Sorting & Packing Volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in helping quality, preloved clothing find its way to tamariki and whānau who need it most. You’ll help sort donated items to ensure they are clean, in good condition, and ready to be carefully packaged for distribution through our trusted partner organisations.

This is a hands-on, rewarding role that directly supports families in our local community by ensuring clothing is provided with care, dignity, and respect.

**What You’ll Be Doing**

- Sorting donated clothing by quality, size, and suitability - Checking items to ensure they are clean and in good condition - Packing clothing ready for rehoming through our partner organisations - Working as part of a friendly, supportive volunteer team

**Time Commitment**

- Minimum commitment of one day per month (more preferable) - Sessions run Wednesdays and Fridays, 9:30am – 12:00pm - Based at our Edgecumbe sorting facility

**What We’re Looking For**

- Reliable and committed volunteers - Good attention to detail - Able to work independently and use your own initiative - A willingness to support local tamariki and whānau

**Why Volunteer With Us?**

The Clothing Project supports families across our community by providing quality clothing where it’s needed most. By volunteering in this role, you’ll be making a meaningful, practical difference while being part of a caring and community-focused organisation.

We are a family-friendly facility and welcome well-behaved tamariki. Volunteers of all ages, genders, ethnicities and abilities are welcome. We unfortunately are not wheelchair accessible at this time. (there are a couple of steps up into our building)
