IHC Friendship Volunteer – do you like connecting over shared interests online?
Do you find yourself lighting up when a good conversation turns to sailing, the America’s Cup, the latest current affairs, or what’s happening out in the garden? We’re looking for a volunteer who shares these interests and would enjoy being a steady, friendly presence for someone who loves chatting about them too. This opportunity is perfect for someone who can weave a small commitment into their routine - connecting over a video call once a week or fortnight. It’s less about structured activities and more about showing up, being present, and sharing conversations that feel natural and enjoyable. We’re looking for someone who is warm, approachable, and a thoughtful listener - someone who understands that trust grows over time and who’s excited about forming a meaningful, steady friendship built on shared interests and good conversation. Make a difference in your community - volunteer with IHC! Play a big part the life of a person with an intellectual disability and the work IHC does by joining one of our Volunteer Friendship or Skill-based Learning or Group Volunteering Programmes.
