About

Te Puke Gymsport is the lead organisation for the Bay of Plenty Movement HQ project. Established in 1954, Te Puke Gymsport is a longstanding amateur sports club dedicated to delivering quality recreational and competitive gymsport sports and movement-based programmes for young people. Now in our 71st year, we have grown into one of the largest gymsport clubs in the Bay of Plenty, with over 700 active members and more than 6,000 additional annual users. We offer a wide range of movement programmes—including preschool movement, recreational and competitive gymnastics, parkour, trampolining, and tumbling—serving the wider Western Bay of Plenty region. In addition to our members we engage more than 6000 other users annually through: • School movement education programmes • Regional competitions • Community holiday programmes (serving 3,000 children annually) • Birthday parties and fundraisers • Preschool drop-in sessions and early childhood education group visits • Home-based childcare movement sessions • Use of our facilities by other community and sports groups Based in a rural community, we play a vital role in providing inclusive access to physical activity and social connection for rurally and socially isolated individuals.
